Mission Statement

The National Domestic Preparedness Coalition, Inc. (NDPCI) is a 501c (3) nonprofit organization established by responders for responders after the September 11th terrorist attacks. The Coalition helps our Nation’s Emergency Responders, from both the public and private sector, to prevent, prepare for and protect their communities from all hazards, including natural disasters and terrorism, by providing the highest quality training and programs at the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness. The Coalition strives to leverage partnerships and participation by those on the frontlines who know best how to address their local homeland security needs.

Vision Statement

The National Domestic Preparedness Coalition is THE nationally recognized expert in the area of threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments and related homeland security issues, by emergency responders throughout the Nation.  Federal organizations rely upon the Coalition for advice regarding Threat, Risk and Vulnerability and seek approval from the NDPCI before instituting efforts that affect responders.

Background

The NDPCI was conceived by the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Orange County, Florida, the West Virginia University School of Medicine and the West Virginia National Guard and has emerged as a standalone 501(c) 3, non-profit organization. The National Domestic Preparedness Coalition provides solutions that help protect our Nation's communities from all hazards including terrorism and natural disaster by providing the highest quality training, and programs, developed through partnerships and participation by those on the front lines, emergency responders, private industry, and our citizens, who know best how to address their homeland security needs.

The NDPCI developed the Homeland Security Comprehensive Assessment Model, a comprehensive assessment that defines a community, evaluates a community's strengths and weaknesses, identifies critical infrastructure and key resources, identifies the threats to the community, prioritizes CI/KR and provides a comprehensive vulnerability assessment. The NDPCI provides training for Emergency Responders and Private Industry representatives in the HLS-CAM methodology.
